The idea for the Birdie goes back to the old practice of using canaries in coal mines to warn miners of bad air. When the air quality is poor, the Birdie shuts down and prompts you to bring it back to life by opening your windows and ventilating your home.
The understated design language makes it easy for kids to understand, but also invites the minimalist adult to play along. Birdie is made of recycled plastic and equipped with a rechargeable battery and a wall mount.
